Supermarket Aldi is celebrating its fourth consecutive year as the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket by launching a massive £20,000 giveaway, equivalent to four years’ worth of grocery shopping.

The announcement follows research from Which?, which found Aldi to be the most affordable supermarket of 2024.

The comparison revealed Aldi shoppers saved an average of £131.13 per month compared to Waitrose, the most expensive supermarket in the study. Aldi has retained the title every year since 2021, cementing its reputation for unbeatable value.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said: “This recognition continues Aldi’s remarkable track record of delivering savings to our customers. We’re delighted to have consistently offered top-quality products at the lowest prices across the country.

“With shoppers expected to spend £5,000 on average a year on their grocery shopping, our huge giveaway gives one lucky winner the chance to save on their Aldi shop for up to four years!”

To enter the competition, Aldi shoppers need to email their full name, age, and postal address to [email protected] by 20 January 2025. Full terms and conditions are available online.

Aldi was also named the cheapest supermarket for December 2024, with Which? finding it to be £29.54 cheaper than Waitrose and £11.84 cheaper than Sainsbury’s for a typical basket of goods.

The competition is open now, offering one lucky shopper the chance to enjoy savings that reflect Aldi’s commitment to low prices and high-quality products.
