Suspect detained after car chase and collision in Holywell

A 45-year-old man has been arrested following a police pursuit in Holywell that ended in a crash.
The incident began shortly before 8am today (January 31) when North Wales Police received a report of an incident at an address in the town.
A man left the scene in a vehicle that had been reported as taken without consent and later failed to stop for officers from the Roads Crime Unit.
The vehicle was subsequently involved in a collision on the A5026 near the Halfway House pub.
The man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police, along with other motoring and domestic violence offences. He remains in custody.
Sergeant Danny Rees of the Roads Crime Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw the car driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage, to contact us.
