Update:

It’s believed police were pursuing a red Citroen Ds3 which was stolen from outside a house in  Connah’s Quay early hours this morning.

The owner of the stolen Citroen posted on Facebook at 5.30pm:

“Just to let everyone know I’m aware this scum bag is ragging my car around connahs quay and police are chasing him as I type this. Please be carful if you are on a public footpath as he has just driven around 60mph on to the top field by Morrisons”

Its not known whether the driver has been apprehended by the police, there were reports the car was seen being driven at speed along Hillside Avenue and across the park, the police helicopter was also seen in the area.

From earlier:

A few people have been in touch telling us about a police operation they’ve witnessed in Connah’s Quay.

Three police cars were seen surrounding a small car possibly a Peugeot on Kelsterton Lane near to the College at around 5pm this afternoon.

Police were also seen in a ‘chase’ up towards Morrisons supermarket at around the same time.

Ally told us:

“Madness going on in the Quay. Seized car by the dip by the college, then nearly hit head on by a police chase heading towards Morrisons – All at great speed, had to swerve. Hearts going mad here ?”

Andy got in touch to say:

“A red saxo Citroen going like a bat out of hell over the quay hill. Almost hit me turning into Bryn Rd! Next thing I hear is police sirens going off.”

This is a developing story – more as, when and if we get it.
