Remembrance Sunday, is a day for the nation to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.

Parades will take place in locally and across the UK to remember those who fell while serving for the country.

The annual service of remembrance will be held at the Civic Hall in Connah’s Quay from 10am on Sunday, a parade will follow the service.

The parade will pass the cenotaph and end at the Groves club in Shotton, Wepre Lane and High Street will be closed to vehicles from 9.45am to 12.15pm.

Hawarden parade will begin from Gladstone Playing Fields car park at 10:40am the A550 Gladstone Way
B5125 Glynne Way/The Highway will be closed to vehicles from 10.30am.

Buckley parade will begin from Precinct at 10:00am – Precinct Way, High Street, Brunswick Road, Liverpool Road and Church Road will be closed to vehicles from 9.30am

Alyn and Deeside Assembly Member Carl Sargeant said;

“This time of the year is an important opportunity to remember all those who have fought in conflicts to protect the way of life we have today.

“Locally it’s important we all take time to remember the young men of this community who went to war for us and never came back. It’s also a chance to thank the heroes who survived and commend them for their bravery.”
