Rare treat for Deeside aviation fans as giant RAF A400 pays a visit

A rare treat for aviation fans today as a giant RAF Airbus A400 plane was spotted doing circuits above Deeside.
ZM403 call sign ASCOT406 took off for its Royal Air Force base Brize Norton in Oxfordshire at 1.10 this afternoon.
Arriving in the skies of Flintshire around 1:40 the plane continued to do circuits over parts of Flintshire for around 20 minites flying as low as 2500ft as it banked over Deeside.
The A400 which is capable of carrying 25 tonne load over 2000 miles made its way over to Wrexham before performing a low pass over Chris Evan’s Carfest weekend in Bolesworth Cheshire.

The A400 has been to the region before touching down at Hawarden airport back in 2015 – the wings for the transporter aren’t however made in Broughton, Airbus Bristol has the honour of manufacturing them.
