The latest addition to Deeside Retail Park – Poundworld has opened its doors to the public for first time this morning, Friday 4th December.

The new 4,000 square foot store joins Lidl, Pets at Home and B&M on Deeside Retail Park – Chester Road East.

The opening of the store has seen 30 new jobs created providing a jobs boost to the area in time for Christmas.

Deeside Poundworld has a Christmas shop which will include decorations, cards, wrapping paper, tableware, gifts and stocking fillers alongside around 5000 items ranging from branded toiletries to groceries, cleaning products, stationery, pet care and toys

Poundworld Area manager John Hughes said:

“We’re thrilled to be opening a brand new store at Deeside Retail Park joining a wide range of retailers at the shopping park.

“We believe that the store will be a real asset to the local community, helping families to save more on their favourite brands and other household items. As part of opening celebrations, our store mascot Percy the Pound will be giving out free gifts to lucky customers on our opening day.”

Poundworld started on a Wakefield market stall in 1974 and pledges to ‘help shoppers to save big on their favourite household names including Cadbury’s, Johnson’s and Colgate.’

The new store will be open from Monday-Friday 9am-8pm, Saturday 9-6.30pm and Sunday 10pm-4pm.

Poundworld currently has three stores nearby in Chester and one store in Ellesmere Port.
