Police seize two off-road bikes in Holywell crackdown

Police in Holywell have seized two off-road bikes following complaints of anti-social riding along the town’s High Street over the weekend.
Officers responded to concerns from residents about the illegal and dangerous use of off-road bikes in the area.
The operation forms part of an ongoing crackdown on such activity, which has been highlighted as a key issue by the local community.
A police spokesperson said: “We continue to target those who use these vehicles in an anti-social and dangerous way following feedback from the community. If you have information about off-road bikes being used illegally, you can report it via our website or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Riding off-road bikes in public spaces without permission is illegal in the UK.
These vehicles can only be used on private land with the landowner’s consent.
If ridden on public roads, they must be road-legal, which includes being registered, taxed, insured, and meeting MOT requirements.
Illegal and reckless use of off-road bikes can result in fines, penalty points, vehicle seizure, and prosecution.
Police also warn that parents allowing their children to ride illegally could face legal consequences.
Residents concerned about anti-social bike use are encouraged to report incidents to police to help tackle the issue.
