Police keen to talk to driver of a Volkswagen Transporter van following serious crash off A55 in Cheshire

Police are making a renewed plea for witnesses to a serious collision that occurred in January, just off the A55 in Chester, which resulted in a driver sustaining severe injuries
The collision involved a white Porsche Cayenne and a bridge near Sainsbury’s at Great Boughton on January 16.
The driver of the car, a 50-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries in the incident.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 4:09 pm.
Officers are now specifically appealing to the driver of a white Volkswagen Transporter van, which was seen in the area entering the A55 slip road just before the collision to come forward with any information.
“The A55 would have had been quite busy at this time and there would have been several drivers who may have seen something that could assist us in establishing the exact circumstances of the incident.”
“As such, I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have information that could assist us, to please get in touch,” said Police Constable Alistair Corr.
The police are also appealing to anyone with dashcam footage from the area in the moments before the collision to provide it as evidence in their ongoing investigation.
“We’re particularly keen to speak to the driver of the white VW transporter that had just been passed by the Porsche at the entrance to the A55 slip road, as we believe that they may have vital information that could assist us as a witness with our investigation,” added PC Corr.
