Police and PD Freya nab driver fleeing stolen vehicle in Deeside

Police in Deeside arrested a suspect after an incident involving a vehicle believed to be stolen.
The swift response of the Roads Crime Unit (RCU), assisted by their canine partner PD Freya, led to the arrest.
Officers noticed the vehicle in Queensferry and saw the driver attempting to flee on foot after abandoning the car.
Despite the individual’s efforts to escape, officers apprehended the suspect promptly.
Police Dog Freya assisted in the operation by searching the area for discarded items, with police later confirming that her efforts led to the recovery of potential evidence.
A spokesperson for North Flintshire Police said: “Officers spotted a vehicle they believed to be stolen and then saw the driver ducking out of it.
“He tried to scuttle away behind the car and make a run for it, but #Unlucky for him, the RCU were ready and caught him with no issues.”
Police later confirmed the arrest, stating: “One individual is now in custody.”
Photographs shared on the North Flintshire team’s Facebook page show a number police vehicles parked along Aston Road, close to the junction with South Bank.
