North Flintshire Police urge Nissan Navara owners take extra security measures following thefts

North Flintshire police have successfully recovered another stolen vehicle today, with the driver testing positive for cannabis at the roadside.
The individual is now in custody on suspicion of motor vehicle theft and drug driving.
This marks the second recovery of a stolen Nissan Navara with false number plates in North Flintshire.
Police are urging vehicle owners to take additional security measures to protect their vehicles.
Recommended precautions include the use of steering wheel locks and Faraday cages for keys.
A police spokesperson commented, “This is the second stolen Navara located on Flintshire North on false number plates.”
“These vehicles may be targeted therefore we urge owners, if you can, to take further precautions.”
Faraday pouches can reduce the risk of car theft, especially for vehicles with keyless entry systems.
These systems, while convenient, make cars vulnerable to relay theft, where thieves use electronic tools to amplify the key’s signal and unlock the car.
Faraday bags block these signals, preventing thieves from accessing the vehicle.
Some car manufacturers have implemented countermeasures, but a Faraday bag provides an additional layer of security.
