North Flintshire Police respond to nearly 160 calls in busy weekend

Police in North Flintshire have reported a busy weekend, responding to 156 calls for service, 38 of which required emergency blue-light responses.
Officers dealt with a range of incidents, including domestic crime, anti-social behaviour, road safety concerns, and multiple arrests.
According to the local policing team, 15 arrests were made over the weekend.
These included:
- Four for drink/drug driving
- Five for domestic-related assaults
- One for a non-domestic assault
- One for a racially aggravated public order offence
- One for possession of an offensive weapon
- Two for burglary
- One under the Sexual Offences Act 2003
In addition to the arrests, officers attended 11 domestic crime incidents, 12 reports of concerns for safety, and 17 cases of anti-social behaviour.
Road Safety a Focus as Traffic Increases
With warmer weather and longer days bringing more visitors to the area, police have warned that traffic levels are expected to rise.
Officers are now focusing on road safety, targeting the “Fatal 5” offences—speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing seatbelts, careless driving, and using mobile phones at the wheel.
Operation Darwen, a campaign aimed at improving biker safety, is being relaunched as police have already seen a number of motorcycle collisions in the region. A spokesperson said, “Think BIKE, think BIKER.”
Cyclists are also being urged to stay visible on the roads, while drivers are reminded to give them space when overtaking.
Crackdown on E-Bikes
North Flintshire police are also responding to growing concerns about illegal e-bikes in the area.
While e-bikes are legal under certain conditions, they must be under a specific power limit and display information about their motor capacity.
Under Operation Tenacity, officers are stopping and inspecting e-bikes to ensure compliance with the law.
Ongoing Police Efforts
With crime reports still being processed, police say 79 incidents have been written up, with 22 recorded as crimes so far.
Officers are continuing investigations into the weekend’s incidents and have urged the public to report any concerns.
