Nomads cup match abandoned due to fog – the photographs more than made up for it.

gap Connah’s Quay’s cup semi-final against full-time outfit The New Saints was abandoned last night after a blanket of thick fog descended on Deeside.
Never one to miss an opportunity the clubs award winning photographer Nik Mesney, took some stunning photographs of a fog shrouded Deeside stadium.
Nik’s work has already won him the Welsh Premier League photograph of the year in June for his picture of the Nomads celebrating their historic play-off win over Flintshire rivals Airbus in May.
Recognition for Nik’s picture’s from last nights abandoned fixture has already come from the Welsh FA. they tweeted one of his snaps to their 186,000 twitter followers – the picture has been liked 70 times and retweeted 49 times so far.

The Nathaniel MG Cup semi-final was evenly poised at 2-2 with around 15 minutes left to play when referee Huw Jones was left with no choice but to take the players off as the foggy conditions worsened.

TNS took the lead on 30 minutes with a goal from Wes Fletcher.

Just before half time Matty Owen struck a 20-yard shot which deflected off Les Davies – 2-1 to the Nomads at Half Time.
TNS equalised from a free-kick at the beginning of the second half, the match was abandoned with the score at 2-2.
A date is to be set for the game to go ahead once again.
