A woman has been charged with drink-driving after police stopped her in Mold following concerns from the public.

South Flintshire officers were called on Monday evening after reports of a potentially intoxicated driver.

Officers from Rota 3 located the 63-year-old and arrested her at the scene.

The police statement said: “On officers’ arrival, she was arrested and taken to Llay custody, where she provided a breath sample. The machine takes two samples, with the lower reading used. In this case, the results were 125 and 124.”

“The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, meaning she was over three times the drink-drive limit. She has now been charged and will appear in court next month.”

Officers thanked those who reported their concerns, saying their actions helped police respond swiftly.
