Mold is set to mark St David’s Day with a day of entertainment and cultural events, coinciding with the town’s market day on 1 March.

Organised by Mold Town Council, Flintshire County Council, and Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam, the event will feature live performances, competitions, and community celebrations.

The festivities will begin at 10:30 am at Daniel Owen Square, where local musicians Megan Lee and Jacob Elwy will perform.

At 11:30 am, the results of the St David’s Day window dressing competition will be announced, recognising the best-decorated shopfronts in the town centre.

At 11:45 am, the celebrations will continue inside the Daniel Owen Centre, where Côr Y Pentan and Emily Owens will perform for attendees. The event is free and open to all.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “St David’s Day is a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together and celebrate our Welsh heritage with music and creativity.”

The celebrations are expected to draw visitors to the town centre, supporting local businesses and creating a festive atmosphere for market day.
