Liverpool’s Salt House Tapas expands to Chester with new restaurant

Salt House Tapas, one of Liverpool’s top-rated tapas restaurants, is expanding beyond its home city, opening a new location in the heart of Chester this autumn.
The new restaurant will be located on Bridge Street, taking over the former Boheme site, and will offer the same vibrant atmosphere and contemporary tapas menu that has earned the brand its reputation.
The new Chester restaurant will seat 90 diners indoors, with an additional 40 outdoor seats for al fresco dining.
It will also feature a spacious bar area, perfect for enjoying a coffee or cocktail.
Head chef Laszlo Nagy, whose accolades include a Green Michelin Star and two AA rosettes, will be crafting a seasonal menu showcasing modern tapas dishes.
This new venture marks the first expansion outside of Liverpool for Salt House Tapas co-owners Matt Robinson and Luke Creedon.
Luke, who previously served as executive chef at the Liverpool branch for eight years, expressed his excitement for the new Chester location.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the Salt House Tapas experience to Chester,” said Luke Creedon. “The city’s food scene is thriving, and we can’t wait to share our passion for tapas with the local community. Our focus will be on maintaining the same high standards of food, drink, and service that we’ve become known for in Liverpool, while embedding ourselves in the city’s vibrant hospitality scene.”
The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 12pm, offering a lunchtime menu with three dishes for £17.95, alongside its a la carte menu that highlights the region’s finest produce.
