Hannah Blythyn AM for Delyn has hosted the inaugural Future Flintshire event in North Wales.

At the event, the Cabinet Secretary for the Economy and Infrastructure, Ken Skates, spoke on the value of the North East Wales Economy.

Around 35 representatives from North East Wales attended the event, from businesses of all sizes, local government, the tourism sector, education and trade union representatives.

Stakeholders joined small focus groups at the event to discuss the local economy and raise any concerns.

Hannah Blythyn said,

“This week I’ve held my first Future Flintshire event here in Delyn – giving people from our area the opportunity to have a direct input into the Welsh Government’s economic strategy”

“We brought together a wide range of representatives and organisations from our major anchor companies, such as Airbus and TATA steel – as well as those from local government, the voluntary sector, tourism and trade union representatives.”

“It was great to hear the interesting and innovative views of local stakeholders as we openly discussed the vision for our regional economy”

“I hope this will be the first of many similar events that will reach out across our key sectors – ensuring the needs and aspirations of North East Wales are firmly on the Government’s agenda”

The event took place on Monday 13th March at the Northop Campus of Coleg Cambria.
