Parents are being urged to ensure they know where their children are at night following recent anti-social behaviour in Holywell.

North Wales Police has said they there has been ‘multiple reports’ made to officers of local youths ‘behaving anti-socially’ in the town and surrounding areas over the past couple of weeks.

In a bid to tackle the issues, officers have been carrying out plain clothes patrols, which resulted in two arrests yesterday.

Inspector Wes Williams said: “I want to reassure the people of Holywell that we are taking this matter seriously and that anti-social behaviour in the town is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.

“We are working with the local authority, elected members and local businesses to tackle the issue and officers will continue to carry out increased high visibility and plain clothes patrols and stop searches in the area where necessary.

“I will also continue to monitor the situation and those who cause issues will be dealt with robustly.

“Parents – I urge you to ensure you know where your children are and what they are up to.

“Anyone with information of anyone involved in anti-social behaviour locally is asked to get in touch.”
