Holywell Band wins big at Welsh Championships again

Holywell Brass Band has clinched another victory at the Welsh Regional Championships in Swansea, marking their second win at the prestigious event.
The band performed at Brangwyn Hall, securing first place in their section.
Adding to the celebration, Eb tuba player Simon Owens was awarded the Best Soloist of the Section title for his outstanding performance.
The band took to social media to share their excitement, stating: “This feels absolutely surreal… We’re beyond shocked, but also incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved! From being a small band from the heart of North Wales, to winning not only once, but twice at the Welsh Regional Championships.”
Holywell Brass Band expressed gratitude to their supporters, including family, friends, and followers, for their encouragement.
They also credited their Musical Director, Steve Pugh-Jones, for his dedication and belief in the band.
The Welsh Regional Championships serve as a qualifying event for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, making this victory an important milestone for Holywell.
Celebrating their success, the band added: “A huge thank you to all the incredible players who are the heart of Holywell Brass Band — this wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you putting in your time and energy over the past few months.”
With another championship win under their belt, Holywell Brass Band is looking forward to their next challenge as they continue to represent North Wales on the national stage.
