UPDATE: Hawarden Road application for 32 houses was refused by the committee today despite the best efforts of planning officers to push it through.

Here’s what’s on the agenda for today’s Planning Committee at County Hall, Mold.

Flintshire County Council planning committee will meet today to consider six planning applications.

At the top of the agenda is an application for 32 houses to be built on Hawarden Road in Penyffordd.

The proposal went before the committee in July but a decision was deferred so that omissions in a report could be addressed and a site visit arranged.

Residents and councillors are fighting a battle against a wave of developments proposed for the village.

Up to 300 new homes are in the planning stage around the Penyffordd area.

Despite over 160 letters of objection submitted to from residents, local Councillors and Community Councillors, Chief Planning Officer Andrew Farrow has recommended the planning committee should vote in favour of the 32 dwelling development.

Full details of the application: 056694 – Full Application – Construction of 32 No. Dwellings Including New Vehicle Access Point, Public Open Space, Car Parking and Landscaping at Hawarden Road, Penyffordd. opens in new window

The meeting starts at 1pm, September 6 and can be watched live:
