Flint Town Council and Flint High School are set to host a joint Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair next month.

This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening the local job market and providing valuable opportunities for the community’s youth and job seekers.

The fair will showcase a wide range of organisations from sectors including defence, finance, aerospace, and more.

Participants include Royal Navy Careers, HSBC, Betsi Cadwaladr, Airbus, and Toyota Manufacturing, offering insights into the diverse career paths available in the region.

Targeting pupils in Years 10-13 from the Flintshire area, along with their parents and local residents, the event offers a unique opportunity to meet industry leaders.

The fair, on 8th February, will open its doors from 3.30pm to 6.00pm. This allows ample time for attendees to engage with representatives, explore different career options, and gain insights into the job market.

Mayor of Flint, Cllr. Ben Goldsborough, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating:

“The Joint Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair is a fantastic opportunity for our community to directly engage with leading employers and educational institutions. By fostering these connections, we are investing in the future of our residents and ensuring the prosperity of Flint.”

Clare Millington, Headteacher of Flint High School, said, “We are looking forward to welcoming employers into our school and generously offering their time to our students and the local community. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the opportunities available in our local area.”
