Flint Coastguard called out following reports of male acting suspiciously

The volunteers From Flint Coastguard were called out on Friday.

The team were paged by Holyhead Coastguard Operations Centre at around 1.15pm after 999 call was received about a male acting suspiciously on the sandbanks near Flint Castle.

Once on scene Coastguard officers were informed that male in question had now left the area and was heading over the bridge towards town.

This was confirmed by a Coastguard officer who was following on in his own vehicle and spotted male matching description with muddy shoes and trousers. But

The team carried out a thorough search of the area from Flint lifeboat station to Flint point with nothing suspicious found.

Holyhead were happy that we had done all we can and were happy for us to stand down.

It’s been a busy week for Coastguard officers in Flint having been called out on several occasions.
