Police say an HGV driver has been arrested after driving his lorry the wrong way down a Deeside dual carriageway whilst being twice over the drink drive limit.

The man has since been charged with drink driving, dangerous driving and fraud after the alleged incident in Deeside on Friday.

A tweet this afternoon posted by @NWPCustodyEast, based at the Wrexham police station said:

“Male drove a HGV on wrong side of dual carriageway in Deeside on Friday…Whilst twice the legal limit. Nobody injured thankfully!”

Officers also said the intoxicated HGV driver, a foreign national, was also charged with fraud after he allegedly attempted to gain a UK licence with a forged foreign licence.

No bail has been granted as police say “there is a risk he will not attend court.”
