Deeside Round Table: Recycle your Christmas Tree for a good cause

Deeside Round Table is offering residents a convenient and eco-friendly way to dispose of their Christmas trees with its annual Tree-Cycle event.
Running from January 3rd to January 6th, 2025, the initiative helps recycle Christmas trees while raising funds for local causes.
For a small donation, volunteers from Deeside Round Table will collect Christmas trees directly from residents’ doorsteps across Deeside, covering postcodes CH4, CH5, CH6, and CH7.
The trees will be recycled into wood chips, which will be used as mulch for local parks and gardens.
“No More Pine Needles in the Car”
The Tree-Cycle initiative aims to eliminate the hassle of disposing of a Christmas tree.
“No awkward goodbyes required—just leave it to us,” a spokesperson for the Round Table said.
Participants can skip the mess of stuffing their tree into a green bin or driving it to a recycling centre by simply registering their tree online.
How It Works:
- Register your tree via the Deeside Round Table website.
- Ensure the tree is placed in an easily visible location for collection crews.
- Volunteers will collect and recycle the tree between January 3rd and 6th.
Each tree collected is given a second life as wood chip, an eco-friendly material that benefits local green spaces.
A Long-Running Tradition
The Tree-Cycle event is more than just a recycling programme—it’s an opportunity to give back to the community.
The organisers highlighted the importance of the event, stating: “We encourage residents to recycle their Christmas trees after the holiday season to be turned into wood chip for ongoing use.”
All proceeds from the initiative will go directly towards supporting local projects and charities in the Deeside area.
Support and Participation
Participants are encouraged to act quickly, as registration closes once all available collection slots are filled.
One ticket equals the collection of one tree, so households with multiple trees will need to purchase additional tickets.
Residents can register their trees via the event website at Ticketebo.
