Darren Jeffreys pleads guilty to murdering Gwernaffield woman Karen Catherall

Darren John Jeffreys, 47, of Pwll Glas in Mold has pleaded guilty to the Murder of Karen Catherall from Gwernaffield near Mold.

Police were called to an address in High Park, Gwernaffield, Mold in the early hours on Sunday 14 September 2014 where the body of Karen Catherall was found, she had been strangled and had suffered head injuries. 

Coroner, John Gittins told an inquest into Ms Catherall’s death in September Karen had died from “mechanical asphyxia” and a “blunt force head injury”

Jefferys from Mold was arrested soon after the discovery of Karen, he was later charged with her murder.

Appearing at Mold Crown court today Jefferys admitted the murder charge, he will be sentenced on 24th February.
