Residents of Flintshire searching for local support to manage health conditions are invited to attend the Health and Wellbeing event at Connah’s Quay Civic Hall on 15th June 2023.

The event is organised by Communities For Work Plus Flintshire and Jobcentre Plus, bringing together a diverse range of local healthcare providers.

Running from 10am to 2pm, the event seeks to serve those living with health conditions, their carers, and others interested in the health sector.

Organiser Kim Acton, a Disability Employment Adviser, highlighted the event’s past success and its potential to offer critical support to local residents.

“This event began in 2015 and has provided support to many local residents,” Kim said. “It can attract up to 400 attendees.”

“It’s been developed to support individuals in Flintshire who live with a health condition, or who care for someone with a health condition.”

“It brings service providers to local people, giving them the opportunity to meet these services face to face.”

The event is expected to cover a wide range of health conditions, including mental health care, diabetes, sight and hearing impairments, and learning disabilities.

Organisations that support carers and veterans will also be present.

The last such event, held before the Covid-19 pandemic, was attended by over 33 healthcare organisations who provided advice and support to over 400 local residents.

In addition to receiving advice and support, attendees will also have opportunities to discuss voluntary work with local organisations, fostering a sense of community and active participation.

For more information about the event, contact Kim at Jobcentre Plus on 07717 867211.

This unique health and wellbeing event is designed to provide attendees with the tools they need to navigate their health conditions, making it an invaluable resource for the Flintshire community.
