Update: All lanes back open following earlier M56 closure at Runcorn

Update: Remarkable effort from Highways teams to get this sorted so quickly.

Recap:

There are severe delays on the eastbound M56 in Cheshire after a collision which initially was thought to involve a tanker.

However police have just tweete to praised the tanker driver for stopping to ‘protect the scene’

Highways say there are around a 20 minutes delays to journeys, with tail backs of around 4 miles.
