Charity football match aims to raise £20,000 for Theo

A charity football match will take place at Airbus Broughton on Sunday, 4th May, to raise £20,000 for three-year-old Theo, who requires specialist equipment and home adaptations following a severe brain injury.
Wrexham Police FC will face Andy’s Man Club in the fundraising event, which aims to help Theo’s family as they adapt to the challenges they face.
Theo, who was born with a rare neurological syndrome, suffered unexpected complications following major surgery earlier this year, resulting in a significant global brain injury.
His family home currently lacks the necessary adaptations, with their living room is currently being used as his bedroom, equipped with a hospital bed, oxygen supply, and a SATs monitor.
His bathing arrangements involve a blow-up bath placed on the living room floor.
Wrexham Police FC founder Sgt Dave Smith, who was recently named in the King’s New Year’s Honours List and awarded the British Empire Medal for services to charity and the North Wales community, said:
“Theo is a brave three-year-old boy from Flint who was born with a rare neurological syndrome and recently suffered a significant brain injury. His family needs our support to raise funds for vital home adaptations to help improve his quality of life. Right now, their living room is being used as a bedroom and bathroom for Theo.
“We’re aiming to raise £20,000 to help build a proper bedroom and wet room for Theo so he can live more comfortably and safely at home.”
The match will kick off at 1pm, with all proceeds going towards Theo’s care.
Supporters are encouraged to attend or donate to help make a difference.
