The pioneering company have gained global recognition for their innovative biowaste systems that convert amongst other things, dog poo into energy.

Managing Director, Gary Downie and his team were invited to develop a system that could generate usable energy from a combination of human waste, animal manure and vegetation waste for use in the developing world, the system is set to be launched in Africa early 2014.

Gary says

“The potential to change peoples lives for the better is immense, the social impact of the activities of Streetkleen is one of our core values. We want to be returning the wealth created from our activities back to the communities in which we operate”

This year Streetkleen are sponsoring two football teams, local youth side Broughton Super Saints in North Wales, and the Rongai All Stars who are based outside of Nairobi in Kenya.

Both organisations are doing outstanding work with the youth in their communities and share the same strong social ethical values as Streetkleen.

Broughton Super Saints who were founded in 1976, aim to give children and young people a positive start in life by  promoting health, fitness, competition and education as a way of life, while attempting to focus the young people away from an alcohol and drugs culture followed so much by young persons at this time.

As a gesture of goodwill the boys and girls of Broughton Super Saints will soon be sending team kits, footballs, bibs, cones, boots and training shoes to Kenya and other sports related items both new and previously used.

“If you have previously used football equipment lying around and would like it to be sent over please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will do our best to ensure it makes it to these kids in Kenya who are striving for a better life” said Gary
