Residents of Buckley will soon have more opportunities to receive help and support at the Connects Centre located within the Buckley Library.

Starting October 2, the centre will open its doors an additional day each week, providing assistance on Wednesdays in addition to the existing service days of Tuesday and Thursday.

The expanded schedule came to fruition following approval from the Cabinet, secured by Councillor Billy Mullin, Cabinet Member for Governance and Corporate Services in June.

The Connects Centres play a crucial role in the community, offering aid to the general public, and especially those vulnerable individuals who encounter difficulties accessing services online or by phone.

Visitors to the centre can communicate with trained advisors to receive support with various council services such as Council Tax, Universal Credit, Highways, Planning, and digital support among others.

Expressing his delight over the extended operating hours, Councillor Mullin emphasised the significance of the Connects Centres, remarking, “Connects Centres are invaluable so I’m delighted that as of October 2, the Centre in Buckley is extending its opening hours. As a Council, we are committed to delivering high-quality, accessible services to our residents and Connects allows us to do this.”

The new hours for the Connects Centre at Buckley Library, effective from the week commencing October 2, 2023, will be 9.00 am to 4.30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, ensuring that more residents can benefit from the essential services and support that the centre offers.

Residents seeking more information on Flintshire Connects, or wishing to find the nearest office, are encouraged to visit the official website, signifying the Council’s commitment to enhancing the ease of access to crucial services and support for the Buckley community.
