One of Deeside’s largest employers, 2 Sisters Food Group, is investing millions into upgrading its Sandycroft factory, a move that will create 80 new jobs by July 2025.

The company, based on Glendale Avenue, is enhancing its site with an additional production line, improved chiller system, and new state-of-the-art equipment.

Alongside these upgrades, the investment will also fund modernised staff facilities, including refurbished changing rooms and an upgraded canteen.

Work has already begun on the improvements, with the goal of increasing efficiency and providing better working conditions for the factory’s 1,600-strong workforce.

The company says the investment will not only generate new roles but also create career development opportunities for existing employees.

Omraj Nijjar, Site Director at 2 Sisters Sandycroft, said: “The investment in our factory and the new opportunities it brings for our colleagues and potential colleagues are fantastic. We’ve always been a busy site with a real sense of community in our 1,600-strong workforce, so to be able to provide improved facilities and the latest equipment, as well as the chance to grow your career with us, makes me incredibly proud.”

The upgrade is expected to be completed by July 2025, with recruitment for the new roles likely to begin in the coming months.

Sandycroft is one of the biggest sites within 2 Sisters, processing, cutting and packing poultry.

An accredited supplier to the UK’s largest supermarkets, the site also provides wholesale products to the likes of KFC and Nando’s.
