A vehicle fire has closed one lane of the A55 eastbound near Caerwys  heading towards Deeside.

The incident began around 12.45pm on the A55 at Pen-y-cefn between Junction 29, Pant-y-dulath and Junction 31 the turn off for the A5026 at Caerwys.

Initially the A55 eastbound was closed as smoke blowing across the road as emergency services deal with the fire.

One lane is now open as firefighters dampen down the car so recovery can take place.

Traffic is currently backed up around two miles on the eastbound side to Rhuallt Hill.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_empty_space height=”1px”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text]Helen Darcy (‏@DarcyDooXX( has just shared this video with us.
