Two riders of which sadly passed away at the scene. Five further casualties were conveyed to hospital by the Helimed and ambulance. An update is awaited on their condition.

Capricorn staff and volunteers were the first to arrive on scene helping the injured while they waited for the emergency services to arrive, they said on Capricorn’s Facebook page:

“Our volunteers were first on the scene and I would like to thank them and the people who came along to adopt animals who all rallied round comforting the injured, diverting the traffic from the accident site until the police, fire engines and air ambulance arrived. Our fire extinguishers were called into use but could not prevent a big explosion from one of the motorbikes involved”
